Belt sharpening questions

How much does belt sharpening cost?

Knives under 7" are $15 each. Knives 7" and up are $20 each. Pricing is by blade length, not knife type, so serrated knives cost the same as any other knife that length.

How long does it take?

Most orders are back within 24 hours.

Is chip or tip repair extra?

No. Repairing small chips and damaged tips is part of the sharpening price.

Is belt sharpening safe for my knives?

Yes. Belt sharpening is the standard for professional shops. For very thin, hard, or collectible knives where you want the slowest, most careful process, I offer hand sharpening on diamond plates and whetstones instead.

When should I choose hand sharpening instead?

Hand sharpening is $40 per knife and is the better pick for Japanese knives, hard or thin steel, and knives you consider heirlooms. For everyday kitchen knives, belt sharpening gives you an excellent edge for less.
