Knife and Blade Sharpening Near Me

Most people searching for this have a pile, not a knife. A couple of chef knives, the pruners that stopped cutting, a mower blade, maybe the good scissors. I sharpen all of it, and you can bring it in one trip or mail it in one box.

Everything I sharpen, in one place

A lot of sharpening services do knives and stop there. That leaves you calling around for the pruners and driving somewhere else for the mower blade. I would rather you drop the whole pile at once.

Splitting axes, hatchets, camp axes.

Push mower blades

Scissors and shears

$8 basic household and kitchen, $15 fabric shears

fabric shear sharpening.

Chip and tip repair is included on all of it at no extra charge.

I do not currently take hair or grooming shears. Those need a different setup and I run a waitlist for them rather than open booking. Chainsaw chains are also waitlist only.

Bringing a pile is the point

There is no order minimum and no per-visit fee, so a single paring knife is welcome. But the way this service is priced rewards batching. Nine knives and a mower blade is one drive for you and one setup for me, and it costs the same per item as bringing them one at a time over three months.

If you are dropping more than about ten items, text me first so I can tell you honestly whether it is a same-day job or a two-day one. Most local orders are ready the same day, but a big mixed batch with real restoration work in it is not, and I would rather you hear that before you drive out.

Not in Austin

Search "blade sharpening near me" from outside a metro and you mostly get national mail-in services. They work, and they win that search because they serve everywhere. The tradeoff is that you are shipping to a facility and getting back a machine edge from whoever pulled your box that day.

I do mail-in too, from anywhere in the country, and it is the same hands that sharpen everything else here. No minimum order. Turnaround is 1 to 3 business days after your package arrives, then it ships straight back. I cover return shipping on 8 items or more. Pack them so no edge is exposed, use a box rather than a padded envelope, and include a note with your name and phone number. When you are ready, mail your blades in.

Questions I get asked

Do you sharpen more than just knives?

Yes. Pruners, loppers, axes, hatchets, push mower blades, kitchen scissors, and fabric shears. If it has an edge and it is not a hair shear or a chainsaw chain, text me a photo and I will tell you.

Can I bring knives and tools in the same trip?

That is the idea. Drop the whole pile at once. There is no per-visit fee and no order minimum, so batching costs you nothing and saves you a drive.
